Features below explain the most important points.

PRODUCTION

PRODUCTION is the arrangement and preparation of digital final art files for printing or manufacturing. The design often needs confirmation as detailed choices come into play. Technical experience ensures your Product is setup in a format the manufacturer understands. Color naming, digital image correction, mechanicals with specifications and prototypes comprise PRODUCTION.

HOURS

The number of HOURS and rate are according to your Package. Examples of time needs are:
+ 2 Hours: image correction
+ 4 Hours: color palette creation
+ 6 Hours: mechanical setup with call out
+ 8 Hours: packaging prototype assembly

COLOR

COLORS are utilized from the Pantone Matching System. The PMS colors are industry standard for consistent color display across print, manufacturing and web. COLOR has a variety of possible steps:
+ Selection of a palette
+ Correction to fix images
+ Matching swatches under varied light

IMAGE FIXES

IMAGE FIXES refers to possible steps in correcting imperfect image files to create a believably seamless composite. While these work wonders for images needing restoration, they can optimize a beautiful image into a stunning one. IMAGE FIXES can include: color and contrast levels, effects filtering, lightening and shading, outlines and clipping paths, paint brush cloning, pixel specks cleaning, transparency layering and more.

MECHANICALS

MECHANICALS are files which inform the manufacturer of your final art’s specifications and can be set for print, packaging and product assembly. Properly delivered MECHANICALS usually include: call out instructions, color legend, registration, trapping for spot colors and finish layers such as die cuts, folds and varnish.

PROTOTYPES

PROTOTYPES are the flat or 3D drafts of your Product and provide a reasonable rendition for Finalization. Printed materials receive a color proof page with 90% color accuracy. Books receive a color proof for the cover and black or color inside pages. Box packaging is made from paper or cardboard and bottle packaging is applied to container samples. Consumer goods can be prototyped using a digital plastic mold and will be sanded, polished and painted.

SPECS

SPECS, or Specifications, are confirmed with instructions from client, designer, manufacturer and material sources. Attention to detail provides for precision assembly. Common SPECS are dimensions and depths, line weights, material usage, print sizes and bleeds, colors, trapping and varnish to name a few.

SCHEDULE

SCHEDULE is the STANDARD number of business days required to complete your Production. If you need it sooner, RUSH is in half the time for twice the amount or EMERGENCY is in a third of the time for triple the amount.

STEPS

STEPS are what I will need from you:
+ Criteria: colors and sizes, desired results
+ Parts: designs, images, materials
+ Revisions: corrections
+ Finalization: sign-off
